About Our Routine Safety Testing
The central laboratories at Simbec-Orion provide clinical trial safety testing for early to late-phase clinical trials.
Boasting a full range of instrumentation, our scientists provide both standard and bespoke assay panels, utilising a Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) designed specifically for the execution of clinical trials and pharmaceutical research. Our clinical trial laboratory services include:
- Biochemistry, including urinalysis
- Haematology & coagulation
- Biomarker analysis
- COVID-19 screening
Our Roche Cobas® Pro analyser is a state-of-the art modular system, consisting of clinical chemistry and immunoassay modules. The system, which is fully integrated with our LIMS, provides us with the ability to process up to 4,000 clinical chemistry and immunochemistry tests per hour in a wide variety of matrices including serum, plasma, urine, CSF and whole blood. It also has the potential to run an increasingly extensive array of assays across various disease states.
Not only does our on-site capability mean faster turnaround of results for our clinical pharmacology unit, but it also provides us with increased capacity and scope to support later phase trials. Such support can be an integral element of the trials which we conduct in partnership with our clients and sites across the globe or be a standalone provision for a trial planned through a third party.
